David Yee is a Chinese/Scottish Hapa Canadian born and raised in Toronto. He is currently the Artistic Director of fu-GEN Theatre Company. A Dora Mavor Moore Award nominated actor and playwright, his work has been produced internationally and at home. His play, lady in the red dress, was nominated for the 2010 Governor General’s Literary Award and is published by Playwrights Canada Press. 1) Tell us about your turn in the festival and why you’re doing it?
Adam peer pressured me into it. he also said cool kids smoke. the guy’s basically evil.
2) Is your number clown, bouffon, character or something else entirely?
I’m gonna say something else entirely. mostly because I don’t know what the preceding things mean.
3) What is your best clown experience? Either as a performer or a spectator?
the 5 minutes heather marie annis was single.

the movie “It”
5) Are there any public figures you consider to be clowns? Why?
it would be obvious to say ‘rob ford’. so I’ll say ‘doug ford’.
