Masters of Clown

The Masters of Clown is the festival’s Gala evening and this year we are lucky to feature as our GUEST SPEAKERS, clown greats Jan Henderson and John Turner. Jan Henderson is an award winning teacher, humour expert, a dynamic motivational speaker, and one of Canada ‘s leading specialists in creativity.  John Turner is world renowned, award winning creator and teacher of clown and creativity.  Performer of “Smoot” of Mump and Smoot, director of Karen Hines’ Citizen Pochsy, and the man behind Manatoulin Island’s Clown Farm, for over 20 years, John has inspired and guided thousands of students, actors, directors, writers and artists.  Both Jan and John are Canadian icons.

Also joining the night’s fold to perform are Jeff Krahn and Chris Gibbs.  Jeff AKA Fesso the Clown, AKA Scot Free ( is a seasoned variety artist, circus performer and clown. He has spent the better part of the last 20 years as a World Class Street Performer touring the world with his comedy juggling Show.   Chris is British-born comedian who began his performance career in 1991, working as an acrobat on the streets of London. He’s toured extensively as a stand-up comedian and improviser, written and performed five hit, award-winning one-man shows and is even a published author. He performs every Wednesday with The National Theatre of the World in Canadian Comedy Award-winning The Carnegie Hall Show.
