Dubbed “a virtual Nijinsky of performance art” by the New York Times, Sean Sullivan returns with the rebooted and re-imagined ‘avante-vaudeville’ hit of New York, Toronto, Los Angeles, Poland and the Czech Republic. Directed by Anne Meighan and written by Philip-Dimitri Galas, Baby Redboots’ Revenge tells the darkly comic tale of a former child star whose voice changed belatedly at the age of 25. All grown up and all burnt out, Baby is now trapped playing stand-up bass in a polka band for all eternity. Determined to free himself from the curse of his old partner, he goes on a show-business iconoclasm of fantastically monstrous proportions.
“…Sullivan, with the range of a Chaplin or Keaton, with a touch of Baryshnikov and Danny Kaye, is one in a million, and BR’s Revenge is a perfect vehicle for this great performer.” -Performing Arts Review, New York City , 2012
“Baby Redboots’ Revenge keeps us on the edge of our seats for 65 breathless minutes. The play is directed tautly and intelligently by Anne Meighan, who also provides the stark, minimalist design.” -NYtheatre.com, 2012
